First Annual Cake Walk at Grey Towers!

Got a talent for baking cakes or pies? Ever been to a Cake Walk?

For the first time in Grey Towers history, we’ll be hosting a Cake Walk as part of our annual Picnic with the Pinchots event, with a free concert and performance of FernGully on the grounds of the estate on Father’s Day.

Here’s how the Cake Walk works:

• Picnic guests are encouraged to bake homemade, non-refrigerated cakes and pies to bring to the free picnic, along with their picnic foods and blankets.
• Your culinary delight may be traditional, fun, creative, decorative, or outrageous.
• Along with the confection, bring a paper or card with the description of the cake or pie.
• At 12:45 pm, you and other entrants will set up your cake or pie on tables supplied by Grey Towers.
• At 1 pm, all entries will be judged and ribbons will be awarded.
• At 1:10 pm, fellow picnic-goers will be invited to start the Cake Walk and indulge in samples from as many cakes and pies as they wish.
