DESCRIPTION:Bring your calling card (ticket) and visit with actors who will impersonate and interpret the history of Grey Towers.\nBe greeted by James and Mary\, the patriarch of this Gilded Age family. After highlighting their family’s history and rise to prominence in New York City\, enjoy their memories of summering at Grey Towers. \nGifford\, their son who became the first chief of the Forest Service\, will show you around his library and explain why he became such a force for conservation. Moving on\, you will be received by Cornelia\, his wife\, who was a preeminent advocate for women’s rights\, social justice\, and cultural change in the early 20th century. \nUpstairs\, there is a special guest waiting! And finally\, meet Mary McCadden\, the nanny who saw it all! \nRefreshments will be served. \nThe tour lasts approximately an hour.

The US Forest Service and Grey Towers Heritage Association have re-created these literary programs with readings and dramatizations. \n  \nThe 46th annual performance of Charles Dickens’ immortal classic A Christmas Carol.\nThis 90-minute performance features the original text by Charles Dickens as he himself performed it during his reading tour of America. For 46 years\, one or more members of the Plummer family have presented this performance in the Great Hall of Grey Towers. This year\, Joe Plummer\, Jr. continues this proud holiday tradition. \nThis show is not recommended for children under the age of 10. \n$15 Students / $25 Members / $35 General Public
