DESCRIPTION:Come and join your neighbors and friends at Grey Towers Historic Site for music and refreshments at the Pool Pavilion. \nThe Sylvania Gilbert and Sullivan Society will be offering a selection of works by Victorian-era dramatist W. S. Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan to delight and entertain. The pair are well-known for their wit and sense of irony\, and their send-ups of politics and contemporary culture. Works include The Pirates of Penzance\, H.M.S. Pinafore\, and The Mikado. It has been said that the duo has inspired musical composers such as George Gershwin and Andrew Lloyd Webber and musicians such as Pink Floyd\, Joni Mitchell\, and Peter\, Paul\, and Mary. \nThe Society brings the love and magic of opera\, music\, and theatre to the Delaware Valley area.

DESCRIPTION:Dramatic performances were a popular form of entertainment when Grey Towers was occupied by the Pinchot family in the late 1800s through the mid-twentieth century. The US Forest Service and Grey Towers Heritage Association have re-created these literary programs with readings and dramatizations. \n  \nThe 47th annual performance of Charles Dickens’ immortal classic A Christmas Carol.\nThis 90-minute performance features the original text by Charles Dickens as he himself performed it during his reading tour of America. For 47 years\, one or more members of the Plummer family have presented this performance in the Great Hall of Grey Towers. This year\, Joe Plummer\, Jr. continues this proud holiday tradition. \nThis show is not recommended for children under the age of 10. \n$15 Students / $25 Members / $35 General Public \nTickets will be made available to Grey Towers Heritage Assoc.
