Scouting Forestry Merit Badge Day
May 4, 2025
9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Earn your Forestry merit badge in one day!
3rd Annual Forestry Merit Badge Day
Join us at the Grey Towers National Historic Site, the ancestral home of Gifford Pinchot, the first Chief of the United States Forest Service (USFS), to earn your Forestry merit badge in a fun, hands-on, educational workshop offered in May 2025.
The forest is your classroom…
With the help of the US Forest Service and other Forest Enthusiasts, Scouts can work to complete the Forestry merit badge requirements, Scouts will explore the remarkable complexity of a forest and identify many species of trees and plants and the roles they play in a forest’s life cycle. They will also discover some of the resources forests provide to humans and come to understand that people have a very large part to play in sustaining the health of forests.
You’ll prepare a field notebook, collect and identify forest trees and plants, study the principles of forest management, and learn about forestry’s many contributions to society and our way of life.
Space will be limited. Register soon to make sure there is a spot reserved for you.
