What places say about us: Grey Towers’ hidden messages.

A presentation by Edgar Brannon, Director of Grey Towers, retired.

Our homes say more about who we are than we realize, and often without our intending.

Using Grey Towers as a model, Ed will share what he learned from studying Grey Towers and the Pinchot family and how that relates to us.  We can play amateur psychologist, and think about each of our homes, and what it says about us.

This presentation will involve a walk around Grey Towers, time to ask questions, share your thinking, and soak it all in.

a portrait With his DogEd was Director of Grey Towers from 1989 to 2005, is credited with the restoration of the Pinchot Estate.  He is a Senior Fellow of the Pinchot Institute for Conservation, Forest History Society at Duke University, and was a Senior Faculty Fellow at Yale School of the Environment.

He is known for his engaging lectures, and assures us there will be some surprises, and challenge everyone to make their homes about them, not what they imagine others will like. Our homes are museums of our lives, and what they say about our social status, values, and what we show the world about our lives.

Lost Art Lacers of North Jersey will be showcasing lace making on the porch of the East lawn.
