Red Maple

This is one of the first trees to flower in spring, well before its leaves appear. Red maple is best known, however, for its brilliant scarlet autumn foliage. For this reason, it is used widely as an ornamental and shade tree. This rapid-growing tree is often referred to as soft, or swamp maple.
